Title VI / ADA Information

Public Information Concerning Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended:

Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) is the recipient of Federal funding to provide public transportation. RVTD operates programs subject to the nondiscrimination requirements under Title VI/ADA. Any individual, group of individuals, or entity that believes they have been subjected to discrimination prohibited by Title VI/ADA nondiscrimination provisions may file a written complaint within 180 calendar days of the alleged occurrence or when the alleged discrimination became known to the complainant.

The following examples, without being exhaustive, illustrate the application of the nondiscrimination provisions of certain Department of Transportation operating administrations.

  • Any person who is, or seeks to be, a patron of any public vehicle which is operated as a part of, or in conjunction with, a project shall be given the same access, seating, and other treatment with regard to the use of such vehicle as other persons without regard to their race, color, national origin, or disability.

Individuals or organizations who believe they have been denied the benefits of, excluded from participation in, or subject to discrimination on the grounds of race, color national origin, or disability by Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD) may file an administrative complaint with RVTD under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 or the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.
