The Guy Wallman Mobility Training Center is named in honor of Guy Wallman, a beloved former RVTD coach operator who passed away in 2022. Guy’s dedication and enthusiasm for serving our community will live on through this center, which will play a crucial role in helping new and experienced riders feel comfortable using public transit.
Located in the old “Greyhound building” on Front Street, the Center features a retired RVTD bus equipped with all the amenities you’ll find on our active routes, providing passengers with a realistic and stress-free environment to practice transit skills. Whether it’s learning how to pay fares, finding the right seat, requesting a stop, or using accessibility features such as the wheelchair ramp and restraints, the Center is designed to make riding the bus easier and more comfortable for all.
Additional features include:
✅A full-size bus shelter and Simme seat for realistic waiting area practice.
✅An interactive TV screen for real-time trip planning and route finding.
✅A demonstration bike rack to practice loading and unloading bicycles.
