Rogue Valley Bike Swap

Buy, sell, or donate a bike, parts, or accessories at this free annual event. Kid bike rodeo starts at 12:30! Register your bike with the Ashland PD, and learn about bike events and advocacy efforts in your community. Free bike safety checks, adjustments, and light tuning will be provided to shoppers free of charge. A portion of each sale will fund the PedalPower Youth Bike Program, which brings safety education to local public schools. More info: rvtd.org/bikeswap

First Friday Bike Ride

Meet riders on the Plaza in downtown Ashland at 5pm; the group ride starts approximately 5:15pm. This monthly, all-ages, all-abilities, family-friendly ride is hosted by Streets For Everyone, an action team of the Ashland Climate Collaborative.

National Walk+Roll to School Day

Ask your local school what they’re doing to celebrate! RVTD and your local Safe Routes To Schools team can help with incentives, logistical support and other resources. Bicycle Film Festival Ashland

Confident City Cycling Course

If you want to gain more confidence riding your bike around town, this free class is for you! Learn how to perform a pre-ride bike safety check. Then we’ll review your rights and responsibilities as a bicyclist, and we’ll discuss lane positioning and other strategies that help us navigate our shared streets safely. No experience necessary. Whether you bike for transportation or for recreation, the Rogue Valley is a great place to get around by bicycle. More than 50 miles of multi-use trails, on-street bike lanes, and designated bike routes make it easy for cyclists to get where they need to go. It’s a fun, healthy, inexpensive alternative to driving that is attracting more and more commuters all the time.

RVTD supports biking as a smart, healthy, and fun mode of transportation. We work to encourage more people to find the joy of bicycling as a means to get to work, school, shopping and more! There are many benefits to bicycling ranging from saving money, getting healthy, decreasing your carbon footprint or just having fun! The Rogue Valley is a great place to ride a bike, with the world class Bear Creek Greenway connecting Ashland to Medford the opportunities to explore our community on two wheels is almost endless.

Bear Creek Greenway:

The Bear Creek Greenway connects the communities of Ashland, Talent, Phoenix, Medford and Central Point with an 18-mile paved, multi-use trail. Bicyclists, skaters, runners, and walkers use the trail for transportation and recreation.Community parks along the Greenway offer restrooms, drinking water, playgrounds and picnicking opportunities.
